Commando K4 Wheelchair (SKU M170Commando)

The Commando K4 is a folding manual wheelchair built on a carbon steel frame with a silver vein, scratch-proof finish. It weighs 33.5 lbs without the front rigging, holds up to 300 lbs, and folds down to 11" wide for transport or storage. It comes in three seat widths: 16", 18", and 20".

Frame and wheels

The rear wheels are quick release, so they come off without tools when you need to load the chair into a car or shrink it for storage. Tires are urethane over composite wheels, which means no air to check and very little upkeep. The 8" front casters are height adjustable across three positions, which is what changes the seat-to-floor height from 17.5" to 19.5".

Seating and arms

The arms are desk length and height adjustable, with padding, and they detach and reverse. Desk length arms are shorter at the front, so the chair pulls up under a table or desk. Seat-to-arm height adjusts from 10.43" to 14.37". Seat back height is 16". Upholstery is nylon. A 2" Velcro seat extender is included and attaches with push pin bars, adding depth to the seat.

Front rigging

Two options: swing away footrests or elevating leg rests. Swing away footrests pivot out of the path so you can get closer to a bed or transfer more easily. Elevating leg rests raise the lower leg toward horizontal, which is what a doctor typically calls for after surgery or when swelling is a concern. Pick one at the time of order; the model number and billing code change depending on which you choose.
