The Barton I-700 Bariatric Convertible Chair converts from a flat stretcher to an upright mobile chair in seconds. One caregiver can move a patient between bed and chair, wheelchair, or commode without manual lifting. The chair performs the functions of a stretcher, a mobile chair, and custom seating in a single product.

Patient Transfer System
The Patient Transfer System is included with the purchase of a new bed. The kit contains two chair brackets, five transfer straps, two bed posts, one non-slip mattress cover, one transfer bar with five sheet clips, five plastic plugs, and two bed clamps.
The transfer bar attaches to the bed, the bed sheet clips to the bar, and the patient is moved onto the chair by turning a handle. The chair is then inclined and is ready to travel.
Qualification Criteria
A patient generally qualifies for a Patient Transfer System when all of the following apply.
- Patient requires a transfer between bed and either a chair, wheelchair, or commode
- Patient is bed-confined without the use of a sling lift
- Patient requires supine or lateral transfers
- Patient must be non-weight bearing
